Tempered Glass vs. Polycarbonate
This is tempered glass, the same material type Takeuchi used for this pane at the factory, not a polycarbonate substitute. Glass holds its clarity and resists the scratching that wipers, dust and cleaning cause on plastic panels. If tempered glass does break, it crumbles into small, blunt pieces rather than long sharp shards. If you run your machine in forestry, demolition or other work with heavy flying debris, see our Takeuchi excavator polycarbonate doors and windows.
Installation Information
This listing is for the glass pane only. The seal, frame and mounting hardware are not included, so reuse or source those separately. Takeuchi's TB260 brochure describes the lower front window as removable and stowable, so the pane lifts out of the cab once the upper window is raised.
What's Included
- (1) Takeuchi front lower glass pane, OEM #0558604210
Not Included: seal, frame, mounting hardware or adhesive.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the lower front window on my TB260 be taken out and stored?
Yes. Takeuchi's TB260 brochure calls the lower front window removable/stowable, and the operator's manual for TB260-serial machines says to stow the upper window in the ceiling, lift the lower pane out, feed it through the guide on the left side of the cab and secure it with the support.
How does the upper front window open on a TB260?
Takeuchi's TB260 brochure describes a gas lift-assist upper front window that retracts into a recess in the roof. The manual says to press the knobs on both handles, pull it back while lifting, and lock it open with the pins on both sides.
Which TB260 serial numbers does 0558604210 fit?
Two sellers list TB260 serial numbers 126000002 through 126000845 for this pane, plus the TB280FR. If your TB260 serial is outside that range, confirm the part number before ordering.
How is 0558604210 different from the TB235 front lower 0378607104?
Sellers list 0558604210 at 885 × 500mm and the TB228/TB235/TB250 front lower 0378607104 at 875 × 487mm, so the TB260 pane is about 10mm wider and 13mm taller.
What are the part numbers of the other glass on a TB260 cab?
Sellers list the left side glass behind the door as 05586-04220, the door glass as 05586-03910 (formerly 03586-00096) and the TB260 upper front window as T0558600072.
