Tempered Glass vs. Polycarbonate

This replacement is tempered glass, the same material type as the factory pane — not polycarbonate. Glass resists scratches and keeps its clarity better than plastic over years of wiper use and cleaning. Tempered glass is heat-treated so that if it breaks it crumbles into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards. For forestry, mulching or demolition work with flying debris, see our Takeuchi excavator polycarbonate windshields.

Which windows on a TB240 cab open?

Takeuchi's TB240 brochure describes a gas-assisted front window that slides into a recess in the roof, a lower front glass that can be removed and stowed, and a skylight with a retractable sunshade. The rear glass is not listed as opening.

What protection rating does the TB240 cab carry?

Takeuchi's 2019 TB240 brochure lists the cab as ROPS/TOPS/OPG (Top Guard Level I), with optional OPG Level II roof and front guards.

Why does Takeuchi call TB240 glass affordable to replace?

Takeuchi's older-model TB240 brochure says the cab uses flat glass panels, which it says make replacement an affordable option. This rear pane is a flat 930 × 827 mm sheet.
