If the windshield/window (i) breaks, (ii) incurs coating failure, (iii) exhibits excessive increased haze, or (iv) exhibits excessive yellowing or loss of light transmission—each within ten (10) years from the date of sale due to manufacturing defect and subject to the definitions and conditions set forth herein—the purchaser will receive a free replacement windshield/window, provided the failed windshield/window, original sales receipt, and this warranty are returned to the original dealer. If a replacement windshield/window cannot be provided within fourteen (14) days, the manufacturer may opt to refund the original windshield/window purchase price.
This warranty applies only when the windshield/window is used in flat vertical architectural glazing, excluding transportation, outdoor recreational, and off-road vehicle applications. The product must be cleaned according to recommended guidelines (see reverse side for cleaning instructions). This warranty does not cover (re)installation expenses or any other direct or indirect loss(es) resulting from windshield/window failure.
Breakage: The warranty against breakage applies only to a windshield/window fabricated, installed, and cleaned according to recommendations. The windshield/window is substantially stronger than acrylic and resists impact, abuse, and vandalism. However, no material can be described as unbreakable, as all use cases cannot be accounted for.
Coating Failure: The warranty covers coating failure when the abrasion-resistant surface treatment visibly flakes or loses adhesion to the substrate sheet, detectable without instruments.
Abrasion Resistance: The windshield/window will not exhibit an increase in haze of more than 15%.
Test Criteria: The sample as manufactured shall be abraded per ANSI Z26.1 (Taber Abrader, Test No. 17) for 100 cycles with a 500g load.
Yellowing and Light Transmission: This applies only to clear, transparent windshield/windows.
The Yellowness Index (YI) shall be less than 5.0 within five years and less than 10 within ten years from sale date, per ASTM D1925 (1977), as measured with a Gardner Colorimeter.
Light transmission loss shall not exceed 5% within five years and 7% within ten years, per ASTM D1003 testing protocols.
This warranty does not cover yellowing or light transmission losses due to dirt, atmospheric deposits, abrasion, or physical changes unrelated to material degradation. Regular cleaning reduces, but does not prevent, this effect.
This warranty does not apply to hazing caused by physical abuse or improper cleaning methods.
The warranties stated herein are the only warranties provided and are in lieu of all other warranties—written or oral, statutory, expressed or implied—including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for special, consequential, or incidental damages arising from use or application of the windshield/window, whether the claim is based on warranty, contract, tort, or other legal theory. Liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the product.
The remedies described are the purchaser’s sole and exclusive remedies.
