I ordered the 1/2" windshield and received a call that it would be several weeks before the 1/2" windshield would be in stock. The 1/4" windshield was in stock and could be shipped immediately so I switched the order over the phone because I could not wait several weeks to replace the windshield. I have installed the 1/4" windshield. That part was easy, but it is very flimsy and flexes with the stresses of the hinges, handle, and the door gas spring strut. Prefer the solid feel of the OEM glass door! There is a gap at the top of the door due to the pressure of the strut.

Jeff, thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the 1/4' windshield did not meet your expectations.

When your original 1/2' windshield was not immediately available, we contacted you and explained the lead time, then offered the in-stock 1/4' option as an alternative so you could receive a replacement sooner. The switch to the 1/4' windshield was made at your request based on your timing needs.

Polycarbonate is naturally more flexible than OEM glass, which is part of what makes it highly impact-resistant and less likely to shatter. However, the thinner 1/4' material will have noticeably more flex than the 1/2' version and will not provide the same rigid feel as glass or thicker polycarbonate.

We appreciate your business and your feedback. We’re happy to review the installation or discuss upgrade options if you would like to move back to the 1/2' windshield.
