It is 5 mm (0.20") green-tinted tempered safety glass, DOT certified, with no mounting holes. John Deere's parts store lists it at 22.1" × 32.55" (about 561 × 827 mm) and 14.26 lb.

Tempered Glass vs. Polycarbonate

This is tempered safety glass — the same material type the factory installs, not a polycarbonate substitute. Glass resists scratching from wipers, dust and cleaning far better than polycarbonate and stays clear over years of use. If it is broken, tempered glass crumbles into small, blunt pieces instead of large shards. For forestry mulching, demolition or other work with flying debris, consider our impact-resistant polycarbonate options in the John Deere excavator collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which window is FYD00006282 on a 35G or 50G cab?

It is the fixed, rear-facing window in the back wall of the cab. John Deere lists separate side-rear panes for the same cab: FYD00006280 on the left and FYD00006296 on the right.

How can I tell it apart from the side-rear panes FYD00006280 and FYD00006296?

FYD00006282 is the big back pane, about 22.1" × 32.55" and 14 lb. Sellers list FYD00006280 as a narrow tapered left-rear pane (about 240/145 × 715 mm), and Deere lists FYD00006296 at 19.7" × 29.2".

Does it also fit the P-Tier 26P, 30P, 35P and 50P?

Yes. John Deere's parts store lists FYD00006282 for the 26P, 30P, 35P and 50P as well as the 26G, 30G, 35G and 50G (general fit — confirm by serial number).

How long should urethane cure before I run the machine?

PartsOnline's John Deere excavator glass guide, shown on a 35G, says to bond the glass with urethane (silicone only on the molding edges) and let it cure 12–24 hours before operating.

Should I run a rear screen on my 50G?

The Deere 50G operator's manual recommends level II FOPS, forestry packages or special screens wherever objects could strike the machine, and says a rear screen should always be used with a winch.
